SENATE SUPPORTS N234.5 BILLION FOR INEC, OVERLOOKS BUHARI’S SECURITY ASK
Egbecho Faith  - The Senate has affirmed N234.5 billion for the Independent National Electoral Commission in front of the 2019 general decision.

The Senate, be that as it may, declined to endorse the financial plan for security organizations as asked for by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

It added N45.5 billion to the underlying N189 billion affirmed by the Senate Committee on INEC.

This brings the aggregate sum affirmed for the discretionary commission to N234,507,272,393.

The endorsement was made after the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Danjuma Goje, introduced a report following his board of trustees’ thought of Mr Buhari’s letter.

The president had composed the Senate on Wednesday, asking for that the National Assembly endorse N242 billion (242,445,322,600) as asked for by INEC and security offices for the 2019 decisions.

He said the whole entirety of N242 billion be taken from different subheads in the 2018 Appropriation Act.
